make sure they are succeeding in their literacy skills. They help determine strengths and weaknesses
of students and recommend paths for interventions.
There are some differences between the two assessments:
The QRI5 it’s an overall general assessment to determine the
students reading level. They help students recognize words and therefore
comprehend what they read. The assessment
materials are for grades K-12.
DIBELS is more specific assessment. It assesses phonemic awareness, alphabetical principle,
fluency, vocabulary, comprehension skills and more. It is used for grades K-6.
