· What is
QRI5?
Qualitive reading intervention- 5 is an informal
intervention for students from grade Pre- Primer through 12th grade.
· What is
the purpose of using QRI5?
It helps teacher understand how students identify
words and comprehend text and conditions that causes students to fail in word identification
and comprehension. The Intervention has different ways of assessing
students and is very individualized for each person separately. QRI-5 uses traditional percentages to
determine students’ level. The scores
are individual to each student not comparing to a norm group.
· Have you
seen similar assessment activities like QRI5? What are they?
I
have used running records to assess children but have never used the QR15.
· What is
your impression of QRI5?
I think it’s a great intervention
for students who need help in reading. It
has been around for many years and really seems to be a successful way of diagnosing
and helping students.
